Addicted to Google Services? Monitor Your Addiction
Google makes it a point to surprise every now and then. This time it comes out with a Google services monitor feature, Account Activity.
It will help users gain more insight into their usage of Google services. You receive monthly reports detailing your account activity, like your number of sign-ins, the number of emails you sent and received, the browsers you used, the number of Google searches you performed, the number of places you visited on Google Latitude, and a bump of other things that scope the huge amount of data Google stores on you.
Google product manager Andreas Tuerk writes:
For example, if you notice sign-ins from countries where you haven’t been or devices you’ve never owned, you can change your password immediately and sign up for the extra level of security provided by 2-step verification.
The move is considered in succession to Google’s privacy policies across all its services. The privacy treats the users as a “single user across all the products”.
The Account Activity will allow the users to see what they are doing on Google, and how much of their time is spent on Google.
Don’t forget to save time for yourself.
